Prof. Dr. Ralph Sonntag
Sustainability is a strategy for acting for future generations. We act today so we can live well in the future. This is not an ecological or human issue but rather an economic issue. Sustainability is often related with risks. We discover in the summer school the opportunities. Sustainably management is also a cooperate and social strategy. So, discover sustainable as a key for yourself and our society!
Prof. Dr. Elizabeth Prommer
We will present you an interdisciplinary insight into the topic of sustainability. We will have teachers and academics from all institutions looking into topics like renewable energies, sustainability in the Baltic Sea region, sustainable tourism, sustainable food production, circular economy, sustainability in urban planning – and many more topics. This is a German wide unique effort of six universities. We are financed by and thankful for the Ministry of Science, Culture, Federal and European Affairs, Federal State Government of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The aim of University of Applied Sciences (UAS) Wismar is to support economically efficient, socially balanced and ecologically compatible global development. As part of its structural development UAS Wismar plans to develop even stronger into a sustainable living, teaching and learning space and to enhance the open spaces with working, meeting, and recreational areas. Numerous degree programmes at UAS Wismar are already dealing with the topic of sustainability by reflecting on the knowledge they have acquired. Our students understand the dimensions and the accompanied tasks of sustainability and how to face the challenges.
Mrs Bettina Martin
